Brother Ali’s 2012 album Mourning in America ended up being his most social/political album, but it didn’t start that way. He and Seattle-based boom bap legend Jake One set out to make a project of Ali unapologetically spitting venom over Jake’s slaps. The two collected those early, homemade demos and dropped Left In The Deck. It’s one of the hidden gems in Ali’s catalog since the initial run of cassettes sold out in a hurry and it can only be found on youtube.
